Halloween Partayy

We love Halloween! The last three years we have had a little Halloween party, and just cause we have Sophie now didnt stop us this year. Since we were having the party Saturday we really wanted to dress Sophie up on Friday night too to show her off in her costume.

Todd and Kimiko came from Logan and we all went to Olive Garden with Sophie dressed up as a little ladybug. She got alot of compliments because she was the cutest little ladybug ever! I also took her to Tylers flag football game dressed up in her costume. Since she cant trick or treat yet there was only so much we could do!

We had alot of good costumes at the party! I think Todd probably took the spot as best costume as the Mad Hatter. He looked creepy! I will have to say Tyler looked pretty creepy himself and Shawn and Ashley looked hilarious as white trash!

Once again... Tyler looked pretty funny! I think Sophie was a little bit scared of him. Some reason she wasnt really scared of me with black hair! Maybe I should dye it.

I love this picture of these two! Sophie is making a funny face and Tyler just looks cute. She looks alot like her daddy!

It was Sophies 6 (and a half) months appointment today. She had to get 5 shots and of course I HATE that part!! I feel so bad for her because shes always so happy before the Dr comes in and then in two seconds she is screaming like a banshee. I have never heard her cry as hard as she does when she gets her shots! Here she is hanging out in the Drs office before the shots... she obviously doesnt know whats about to happen!
She looks so chunky but she is only in the 30th percentile for her weight, and the 50th for her height!
I love her cheeks!

She is trying to master the art of sitting up. Sometimes she does really good and others its like she has a weight in the back of her head that makes her fall backwards. She also officially has a TOOTH! It is crazy how fast time flies.
Happy October!

Good Morning!

I absolutely hate getting up in the mornings. I am not a morning person and never have been! Unfortunately having a baby kind of puts a damper on sleeping in. When Sophie was younger she would usually go back to bed with me and Tyler until about 9 if we wanted her to, but lately she is up at 7 and will NOT go back to sleep! Although it can be very annoying I love hanging out with her in the mornings because she is so smiley and happy. I cant resist this little face!

I love fall!

A few weekends ago we went to Idaho for my Aunts bridal shower that me and Ashley threw. My Aunt Lori has always been more like the older sister I never had, than an Aunt! She has been through so much in her life and somehow still stays positive and happy through it all. She is getting married next weekend and I cant wait! I am so glad she has found someone that treats her good and that she can spend her life with.
I love this picture with Ashley and Abby squished into the back and Sophies little pink bowing showing over her carseat!
We always love going to my grandmas house when we are in Idaho. She lives in a cute little red house in the middle of the country, surrounded by mountains and lots of fields. It is so pretty there in the fall. We were excited to go fourwheeling and enjoy the scenery and the weather!

Justin and his wife Mega and their little girl Mia came from Texas to visit that weekend also. She is so cute! Sophie is her first cousin so she was really excited to help with EVERYTHING Sophie needed to do during the day. Here she is singing her to sleep...
Pretty much all day me and Kimiko were in the kitchen making treats! My friend Kenzie introduced me to Bakerella, so here was my first attempt! I actually didnt do most of the work, Kimiko helped with pretty much all of it! They are little wedding cakes on a stick that I took to the bridal shower. ( the colors of the shower was purple...)

This last week I met up with some of my favorite friends at the park again since it was so nice outside. It is so fun to see them and their cute little kids! We decided to take some fall pictures of the kids but couldnt get them all to look at once except this picture. I dont know how photographers do it! I think at this point we were all pretty much standing on our heads. Could these kids be any cuter though?

Me and Soph.. She does look alot like Tyler but I think she is starting to look a little more like me! She does have some white hairs coming in! I think once she is walking around with a full head of white hair she will look alot more like me. She may be two years old by the time she gets a full head of hair though! :)
One day last week we went to Ashley's and walked to Sugarhouse park. She lives right across the street from it! Since it was so nice out there were a million people there but it was fun to show Sophie the ducks and walk around. We pretended like we were throwing food in the water so they all circled around us. She was a little scared but mostly just stared at them!

I have been loving this weather and am not looking forward to the snow!!

Life as Mommy...

So lately I have been wondering if I should just delete my blog or get back into the blogging world! So I started at looking at everyones cute blogs and all my friends cute little kids and babies and decided that I need to keep up with mine so we can all keep in touch better and I wont miss out on staying connected with my favorite people! Plus I feel like I have such a cute little baby here, I need to show her off somehow!

Life as a mom has definitely been a new experience! There are definitely ups and downs and times when I could pull my own hair out. It has taught me alot of patience and also shown me how much I could love and care for another little person! It is a wierd feeling to feel so bad when they are upset and to be so happy when they are smiley and happy. Lately though I have felt like me and Sophie are becoming best little friends and I wouldnt want it any other way! She is finally in a really good routine and rarely has a reason to throw a tantrum. She really thinks I'm so funny and all I have to do is say hi to her for her to give me a big cheesy smile. She is already over five months old and I cant believe how fast time has flown by. We have gotten really lucky with how good she has slept all along, but it has been nice to have her go to bed around 8:30 to get a little peace and quiet at night now!

One of my favorite times with Sophie is when I rock her to sleep. Lately I have been the biggest baby and cry over just about anything (even an episode of Modern Family which is supposed to be a comedy!) But all I can think about is how time is flying by way too fast and my little baby is getting so big. Her favorite thing for us to do is either tickle her hand or massage her chubby little thigh while she goes to sleep. I could stare at her forever! After she wakes up in the mornings to eat I take her back to bed to Tyler to cuddle with her. When they are curled up sleeping next to each other they look so much alike! It is so cute. I have loved watching Tyler be a good dad and take care of Sophie. He actually gets really protective of her and was begging me to stop working even part time because he hated the thought of Sophie not getting all the attention and love that she deserved! So, I put in my two weeks about three weeks ago and have been loving the extra time together and starting my own projects here and there.
It is so funny to us how much she loves TV and movies. If she is ever fussy or bored we turn on a Baby Einstein and she gets so excited and watches the whole thing (twice sometimes!) It is pretty funny to watch her watch the tv and crack up at all the dumb jokes. They are about the dumbest things to watch but I cant complain because it gives me time to get ready or cook dinner.

She is a little poser. Sometimes I feel like she is already a teenager trapped in a baby body. Other people that have taken care of her for a while say the same thing.. she is a little diva already! She can already make some bratty faces and looks at other kids like "what the heck are you doing with that toy? or why are you making those crazy sounds?" Instead of being down with all the playing babies she prefers to sit back and watch them from far away. She thinks other kids are pretty funny though. We went to visit my step sister and her little boy and he was just playing and throwing his hands in the air and Sophie was laughing so hard. She thought it was so funny that he was going crazy!

This picture was taken last week and is the most recent out of the group. She can sit up on her own now and roll over and be more interactive!

Besides Sophie, nothing too interesting is going on with us right now!! I quit my job and Tyler is still working hard at Farmers Insurance. We were so busy all summer and it seems like we have alot of stuff going on this fall and winter coming up too! Sophie will be getting her first cousin on the Griffith side around Christmas, and will get to meet her uncle Josh and her two cousins on my side for the first time this November! We are so excited to see Josh again!

Grown up Sophie

Apparently Tyler has alot of free time at work...

Sophie's Blessing & July

July has been way too busy! Since the 2nd of July we have either had company or been out of town. It has been fun but when we finally were home and it was just us three again it was the best feeling! I have been really bad about updating because I always put pictures up on facebook, but I know alot of my friends from home dont have it so I need to update on here too.

One of my very favorite times of Sophies life so far was her baby blessing! I had been looking forward to hearing Tyler bless her since before she was even born. He did such a good job with everything he said and afterwards he held her up really high and she was wide awake! She is such a sweet little baby and I couldnt love her more! Her blessing dress was so adorable and when I bought it on the display they had a little colored sash around it so we put a hot pink ribbon around hers.
Also in July was me birthday. I actually dont really care about my birthday that much and this year I was just excited because we got on a trip to Island Park with my family and relax!! Ashley got me this cute apron and my grandma got me that hot pink plant and stand since we had no flowers on our porch! My mom gave me the Zumba DVDs that I had been wanting and a cute recipe box because all of my recipes were on random papers all over my kitchen! All weekend we played games, jetskiied, slept, and ate way too much good food! It is so much fun to just be with my sisters and momma. Abby is the best little babysitter. I can't believe how good she is with Soph for being only 12 years old!

I thought this swimsuit and sunglasses were too cute to pass up! She had a few wardrobe malfunctions where a couple times her swimsuit top rode up and something (s) would hang out the bottom. She actually hates being outside and we didnt have her out there too much. She is definitely like her parents and is a hot little furnace that hates being overheated!

I cannot believe she is already over three months old! Time flies so fast. She has definitely been more awake and can look at people and knows who her parents are! Actually having such a crazy month made her a little clingy to me and Tyler and it started getting a little difficult. She learned how to throw a pretty big fit and definitely freaked us out a few times with some major fits! Tyler figured out "the Happy Dance" with her that is one of the only things that calms her down. One night in Idaho we went into West Yellowstone and left Soph with my mom and she threw a huge fit! My mom could not calm her down, and then Tyler walked in and did the happy dance with her and she immediately stopped crying! He has the magic touch. She has been alot better since we have been home, I think she is just a homebody.

We must think alike! All of us wore hot pink this day so we had to take a picture. Emily didnt end up coming which was disapointing but we do get to add Soph as one of the girls now!

Having a baby has definitely changed our day to day lives! It is really hard to get alone time with me and Tyler where we can actually pay attention to each other and hang out. The other night Ashley babysat Soph and we went to the drive in til 3 in the morning by ourselves. It made me realize how much I have missed him and we need to make sure we have time with each other too!

Soph has started smiling like crazy and I've caught quite a few of them on camera. I think she is a little camera shy though because alot of times she wont smile until I put the camera back down. She sometimes seems a little shy with people too, she will smile big and then bury her face into my shirt. My favorite time of the day is getting her out of bed in the mornings when she is so smiley and happy. I love having my little girlfriend to hang out with me all day and take naps with me!

Home sweet home!

I love going home! We went to Idaho for Mothers Day weekend and it was one of the best trips home we've had in a long time. My grandma, aunts, and sister Emily were so excited to meet Sophie! She was so spoiled by people holding her nonstop the whole trip.

Abby had a volleyball tournament we went to. We were so surprised how good she is. She was one of the best ones on her team! I know she could already beat me in a match, which really wouldnt be too hard I guess.

We went to visit my great grandma in the Nursing Home in Ashton. We had to get a picture because not many people have 5 generations alive at once! Sophie has a great great grandma. My great grandma could not keep her eyes off Sophie long enough to get a good picture.

Sunday was her first time in a dress! She looked sooo cute. Her tights were the smallest ones I could find and they were still so baggy on her skinny little legs. She is still so tiny its hard to find clothes to fit her! She is already such a girly girl.
My favorite two people in the whole wide world! They are pretty dang cute. How can you not love these two?
My friend Jenna came over with her little girl Charlotte. Charlotte is about two months older than Sophie which seems like alot right now but I think later on they will be pretty good playmates. It was pretty funny seeing them together. Sophie was throwing a little fit for the pictures and Charlotte was just looking at her like she was crazy, then they both started crying. I always think Sophie is getting bigger until I put her next to other babies and realize she is still so tiny!

Newborn pics!

We got Sophies newborn pictures done and they turned out so cute even though she was awake mostly the whole time! Some reason it is taking forevvver to put them up so here is just a few of them until I can get more on later!

Two weeks!

Sophie turned two weeks old yesterday and to me she is already looking bigger than when she was born. She has been so much fun and I think she is a pretty good baby. I take at least two or three pictures a day because she does the cutest and funniest things. She had her two week checkup yesterday and she had gained a 1/2 pound. That doesnt seem like much but when your only 6 1/2 lbs to begin with then its alot!

She hates taking baths or being naked. We got her newborn pictures done and she threw the biggest fit when we undressed her and went to the bathroom all over the photographers props and blankets. It was a little embarassing!! The photographer kept waiting for her to give up and fall asleep but she wouldnt do it. It took about three hours and she was pretty much awake the whole time! By the end of the day we were all exhausted, and as soon as we got to the car she fell right to sleep.

She loves to have her hands right by her face always. We always have mittens on her hands because she would claw herself but they are always up. Sometimes she seems annoyed when we are trying to wake her up and she puts them over her eyes to cover them up. We always have to pry her hands down for pictures or they would all be of two little mittens.

She loves Tyler. After I feed her in the early mornings I bring her in to daddy and he puts her to sleep for the last time. She sleeps in her crib all the other times at night but in the mornings she will sleep in our bed. She usually curls right up to him and they fall asleep together. It is so cute I love seeing them together. His back has been hurting him lately because sometimes when he falls asleep with her in a wierd position he doesnt want to move or smash her!

My sister in law let me borrow this little bunny outfit and I didnt really think I would use it since its May, but we have put it to good use already. Sometimes when we go out and its windy I put Sophie in it and its so cozy and she looks so cute!

One of my favorite things is when she is full and happy and half asleep. She is so tiny she is just sitting on my lap right here and her little legs are just curled up.

I love my girl!

baby Sophie's here!

This last week has been completely crazy, but one of the best weeks of my life. Sophie Grace was born Monday, April 19th at 1:12 pm, weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and is absolutely perfect! Sunday morning I woke up with some contractions and had the feeling she would be coming within the next few days. Tyler and I had just gone to a birthing class and tour at our hospital on Saturday, and then Sunday night we were back in to have our baby! When we went in on Sunday they actually sent us home even though I was dialated to a 3 and having contractions about 4-5 minutes apart. Little did I know that those contractions were nothing compared to the ones that came later! I woke up at about 4 in the morning to some really bad contractions and we decided to head back to the hospital! Getting all the stuff ready to go to the hospital is pretty crazy. It is such a wierd feeling to realize when you come back home we would have a baby with us.

After getting the epidural everything went really fast and the whole thing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Tyler was so supportive and talked me through the whole thing. He described Sophie's head coming out as a "giant purple brain", which kind of worried me a little bit but she did turn normal colored. She is so sweet and tiny and I want her to stay tiny forever! We were both so in love with her right away.

The whole labor process is really a miracle. It was so special for me when my baby came out and they handed her to me to look down and see such a perfect little human being. Right away I was bawling (and pretty much havent been able to control my crying ever since) and I looked at Tyler and he was crying and it really was just one of my favorite moments. I am so grateful that everything worked out so good and that she is healthy and we have a little family now.

First family picture together

One thing I will never forget is the second night at the hospital I was really overwhelmed, exhausted, sore, and getting frustrated with the nursing situation. I started feeling like I couldnt do it all by myself when I remembered that I dont have to I have Tyler to help me with everything. Tyler decided he would try to squish onto the hospital bed with me to make me feel better and so we could be by each other. It made me feel so much better and I love him so much. It was pretty funny the next morning when the nurse came into introduce herself and Tyler was crammed onto the little bed with me! I have the best husband.

Me with my little sophie

By Wednesday morning we were so ready to bring her home. It felt so good to come home after being at the hospital and having a nurse or doctor come in about every hour. She slept so much better here and seemed happier all around. Being at the hospital stressed me out not having any privacy and having so many things thrown at you at once. She looked so tiny in her carseat!

Tylers mom got this perfect picture of Sophie with her hands folded. Somehow she got her little fingers folded together all by herself! This picture is precious.

Tyler is such a cute dad. He comes home from work and heads for baby right away. Somehow he always seems like he can calm her down. She already loves her daddy.

We have taken so many pictures the past few days I had to just put my very favorites. I love this one with her eyes open. She is so fun when she is wide awake just looking at us.

I am so grateful to have such good friends and family that have helped us and came to visit! We love you all!
