Life as Mommy...

So lately I have been wondering if I should just delete my blog or get back into the blogging world! So I started at looking at everyones cute blogs and all my friends cute little kids and babies and decided that I need to keep up with mine so we can all keep in touch better and I wont miss out on staying connected with my favorite people! Plus I feel like I have such a cute little baby here, I need to show her off somehow!

Life as a mom has definitely been a new experience! There are definitely ups and downs and times when I could pull my own hair out. It has taught me alot of patience and also shown me how much I could love and care for another little person! It is a wierd feeling to feel so bad when they are upset and to be so happy when they are smiley and happy. Lately though I have felt like me and Sophie are becoming best little friends and I wouldnt want it any other way! She is finally in a really good routine and rarely has a reason to throw a tantrum. She really thinks I'm so funny and all I have to do is say hi to her for her to give me a big cheesy smile. She is already over five months old and I cant believe how fast time has flown by. We have gotten really lucky with how good she has slept all along, but it has been nice to have her go to bed around 8:30 to get a little peace and quiet at night now!

One of my favorite times with Sophie is when I rock her to sleep. Lately I have been the biggest baby and cry over just about anything (even an episode of Modern Family which is supposed to be a comedy!) But all I can think about is how time is flying by way too fast and my little baby is getting so big. Her favorite thing for us to do is either tickle her hand or massage her chubby little thigh while she goes to sleep. I could stare at her forever! After she wakes up in the mornings to eat I take her back to bed to Tyler to cuddle with her. When they are curled up sleeping next to each other they look so much alike! It is so cute. I have loved watching Tyler be a good dad and take care of Sophie. He actually gets really protective of her and was begging me to stop working even part time because he hated the thought of Sophie not getting all the attention and love that she deserved! So, I put in my two weeks about three weeks ago and have been loving the extra time together and starting my own projects here and there.
It is so funny to us how much she loves TV and movies. If she is ever fussy or bored we turn on a Baby Einstein and she gets so excited and watches the whole thing (twice sometimes!) It is pretty funny to watch her watch the tv and crack up at all the dumb jokes. They are about the dumbest things to watch but I cant complain because it gives me time to get ready or cook dinner.

She is a little poser. Sometimes I feel like she is already a teenager trapped in a baby body. Other people that have taken care of her for a while say the same thing.. she is a little diva already! She can already make some bratty faces and looks at other kids like "what the heck are you doing with that toy? or why are you making those crazy sounds?" Instead of being down with all the playing babies she prefers to sit back and watch them from far away. She thinks other kids are pretty funny though. We went to visit my step sister and her little boy and he was just playing and throwing his hands in the air and Sophie was laughing so hard. She thought it was so funny that he was going crazy!

This picture was taken last week and is the most recent out of the group. She can sit up on her own now and roll over and be more interactive!

Besides Sophie, nothing too interesting is going on with us right now!! I quit my job and Tyler is still working hard at Farmers Insurance. We were so busy all summer and it seems like we have alot of stuff going on this fall and winter coming up too! Sophie will be getting her first cousin on the Griffith side around Christmas, and will get to meet her uncle Josh and her two cousins on my side for the first time this November! We are so excited to see Josh again!

It is amazing how fast they grow. It's nice you get to stay home with her now. Keith and I worked different shifts for Devin's first 5 years so
one of us would be with him most of the time. She really is a cutie. Keep on bloggin'

I really like the way you share your feelings as a new young mother. It brings back memories and it makes me feel so very happy for you. I'm glad you decided to be a full-time mom; no other job is more important! Tyler is doing well, and he is a natural at being a father. The resemblance of Tyler to Sophie is remarkable. It reminds me of Tyler when he was little. Thanks for hanging in there with your most precious gift.

Love, Mike
