Home sweet home!

I love going home! We went to Idaho for Mothers Day weekend and it was one of the best trips home we've had in a long time. My grandma, aunts, and sister Emily were so excited to meet Sophie! She was so spoiled by people holding her nonstop the whole trip.

Abby had a volleyball tournament we went to. We were so surprised how good she is. She was one of the best ones on her team! I know she could already beat me in a match, which really wouldnt be too hard I guess.

We went to visit my great grandma in the Nursing Home in Ashton. We had to get a picture because not many people have 5 generations alive at once! Sophie has a great great grandma. My great grandma could not keep her eyes off Sophie long enough to get a good picture.

Sunday was her first time in a dress! She looked sooo cute. Her tights were the smallest ones I could find and they were still so baggy on her skinny little legs. She is still so tiny its hard to find clothes to fit her! She is already such a girly girl.
My favorite two people in the whole wide world! They are pretty dang cute. How can you not love these two?
My friend Jenna came over with her little girl Charlotte. Charlotte is about two months older than Sophie which seems like alot right now but I think later on they will be pretty good playmates. It was pretty funny seeing them together. Sophie was throwing a little fit for the pictures and Charlotte was just looking at her like she was crazy, then they both started crying. I always think Sophie is getting bigger until I put her next to other babies and realize she is still so tiny!

Two weeks!

Sophie turned two weeks old yesterday and to me she is already looking bigger than when she was born. She has been so much fun and I think she is a pretty good baby. I take at least two or three pictures a day because she does the cutest and funniest things. She had her two week checkup yesterday and she had gained a 1/2 pound. That doesnt seem like much but when your only 6 1/2 lbs to begin with then its alot!

She hates taking baths or being naked. We got her newborn pictures done and she threw the biggest fit when we undressed her and went to the bathroom all over the photographers props and blankets. It was a little embarassing!! The photographer kept waiting for her to give up and fall asleep but she wouldnt do it. It took about three hours and she was pretty much awake the whole time! By the end of the day we were all exhausted, and as soon as we got to the car she fell right to sleep.

She loves to have her hands right by her face always. We always have mittens on her hands because she would claw herself but they are always up. Sometimes she seems annoyed when we are trying to wake her up and she puts them over her eyes to cover them up. We always have to pry her hands down for pictures or they would all be of two little mittens.

She loves Tyler. After I feed her in the early mornings I bring her in to daddy and he puts her to sleep for the last time. She sleeps in her crib all the other times at night but in the mornings she will sleep in our bed. She usually curls right up to him and they fall asleep together. It is so cute I love seeing them together. His back has been hurting him lately because sometimes when he falls asleep with her in a wierd position he doesnt want to move or smash her!

My sister in law let me borrow this little bunny outfit and I didnt really think I would use it since its May, but we have put it to good use already. Sometimes when we go out and its windy I put Sophie in it and its so cozy and she looks so cute!

One of my favorite things is when she is full and happy and half asleep. She is so tiny she is just sitting on my lap right here and her little legs are just curled up.

I love my girl!

baby Sophie's here!

This last week has been completely crazy, but one of the best weeks of my life. Sophie Grace was born Monday, April 19th at 1:12 pm, weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and is absolutely perfect! Sunday morning I woke up with some contractions and had the feeling she would be coming within the next few days. Tyler and I had just gone to a birthing class and tour at our hospital on Saturday, and then Sunday night we were back in to have our baby! When we went in on Sunday they actually sent us home even though I was dialated to a 3 and having contractions about 4-5 minutes apart. Little did I know that those contractions were nothing compared to the ones that came later! I woke up at about 4 in the morning to some really bad contractions and we decided to head back to the hospital! Getting all the stuff ready to go to the hospital is pretty crazy. It is such a wierd feeling to realize when you come back home we would have a baby with us.

After getting the epidural everything went really fast and the whole thing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Tyler was so supportive and talked me through the whole thing. He described Sophie's head coming out as a "giant purple brain", which kind of worried me a little bit but she did turn normal colored. She is so sweet and tiny and I want her to stay tiny forever! We were both so in love with her right away.

The whole labor process is really a miracle. It was so special for me when my baby came out and they handed her to me to look down and see such a perfect little human being. Right away I was bawling (and pretty much havent been able to control my crying ever since) and I looked at Tyler and he was crying and it really was just one of my favorite moments. I am so grateful that everything worked out so good and that she is healthy and we have a little family now.

First family picture together

One thing I will never forget is the second night at the hospital I was really overwhelmed, exhausted, sore, and getting frustrated with the nursing situation. I started feeling like I couldnt do it all by myself when I remembered that I dont have to I have Tyler to help me with everything. Tyler decided he would try to squish onto the hospital bed with me to make me feel better and so we could be by each other. It made me feel so much better and I love him so much. It was pretty funny the next morning when the nurse came into introduce herself and Tyler was crammed onto the little bed with me! I have the best husband.

Me with my little sophie

By Wednesday morning we were so ready to bring her home. It felt so good to come home after being at the hospital and having a nurse or doctor come in about every hour. She slept so much better here and seemed happier all around. Being at the hospital stressed me out not having any privacy and having so many things thrown at you at once. She looked so tiny in her carseat!

Tylers mom got this perfect picture of Sophie with her hands folded. Somehow she got her little fingers folded together all by herself! This picture is precious.

Tyler is such a cute dad. He comes home from work and heads for baby right away. Somehow he always seems like he can calm her down. She already loves her daddy.

We have taken so many pictures the past few days I had to just put my very favorites. I love this one with her eyes open. She is so fun when she is wide awake just looking at us.

I am so grateful to have such good friends and family that have helped us and came to visit! We love you all!

Easter weekend!

I cant believe its already April! I love that Easter and conference were the same weekend this year. We had such a relaxing weekend and I am so excited the weather is getting somewhat nicer! And April is baby month (hopefully) so thats even more to look forward to! Lately I have been thinking of what a cute dad Tyler is going to be. He is sooo excited for this baby to come. Although I pretend I dont like it when he rubs my belly three times "for good luck", I really think its so cute how much he thinks about her and talks to her.

For Easter we went to Kevins in Provo and Kimiko made us dinner. It was delicious! Todd had a track meet in Provo on Friday so they were down here all weekend and the guys got to go to priesthood together. I stayed home and washed all of our baby clothes and blankets and bedding. Her outfits are so tiny and cute and I am so excited for when she can finally wear them! I am sick of imagining what she will look like and would like her to come already!

Just a random shot of our crazy family! Apparently I was the only one that didnt really get what was going on. When Tyler and his brothers get together there is never a dull moment. Growing up with mostly all sisters is alot different than the beating each other up and chest bumping these guys do but it is definitely entertaining.

This is the only easter egg we decorated this year. We really didnt get into easter much but I did get this shirt that happened to make my belly look like a giant easter egg! This is me with three and a half weeks to go! A little scary...

Last weekend we went to Las Vegas with Ashley and Shawn. We took Monday off of work and went for a long weekend. We stayed at the Luxor and luckily the weather cooperated with us and we got to lay out for a few days. That was what I wanted to do very most! Unfortunately we came home to a big snow storm here but it was fun while it lasted. As much as I know many of you would like for me to have put up a picture of me in a maternity swimsuit 8 months pregnant... not gonna happen! haha.
Tyler and Shawn were pretty funny when it came to gambling. We really dont get into it but its fun to play a few games when we are in Vegas! Me and Ashley went shopping for a while and I got a phone call from Tyler wondering if I had taken the 1 dollar bill that had been on the dresser. I guess I hadn't realized that they were searching the room up and down for one more dollar to try to double it to make up for their last lost dollar! Then after a long night of walking around the strip and eating at Margaritaville, we thought we were all going to bed and look over and Shawn is lacing up his shoes to go back down to try to win a couple more bucks. Shawn actually was pretty lucky but unfortunately Tyler is very unlucky so we evened out.

Shower Power

Last weekend Susan and Hannah came to visit when we had the baby shower here in Utah. Tylers Aunt Karen and Ali (my sister in law) threw it for me in the clubhouse where we live. It turned out so cute and I really appreciated all the work that Ali and Karen put into it, and all the family and friends that drove out to it even though most of you got lost!

I got alot of cute clothes, blankets, shoes, onesies, a diaper bag and other fun things for the baby! A few of my favorites were this blanket that Ali made me and the light pink blanket Susan crocheted me! I love the colors on this blanket and the red and white polka dot on the back side. I cant even sew a button onto a shirt so I was pretty impressed!

Some of Tylers family at the shower...

A few girls from my work that came! Who knew "Sizzling Platter" could have so many fun girls to work with? I spend more time at work then I feel like I do at home so I'm happy I have them!

I can't believe how close we are getting to having our baby! Only about five weeks left and counting. We are getting so excited to meet her and see what she looks like. We always wonder if she will be bald, blonde, or somehow have alot of brown hair? We still dont have a name picked out but are narrowing down the list!

I wanted to see if any of you have any advice of things we do need or dont need to buy before she comes! There are so many things I've heard we should get... boppy, bouncer, bumbo, etc. Any other ideas? Any secrets to help the first few months be a little easier? Any information you can give is helpful! :)

Sisters...

Last weekend me and Ashley drove the exciting drive to Rexburg. We met up with my mom and sisters in Idaho Falls to go to dinner and Alice in Wonderland (requested by Abby). I think every girl needs a sister! Although we have our share of fights I couldnt love my sisters more. It seems like I have tripled my sister count in the last two years! I have three sisters, four sister in laws, and three step sisters. (not to mention all of Tylers step sisters which would be my step sister in laws!) I cant believe how grown up Abby is seeming now. It actually makes me a little sad to see her starting to act so "cool." She has now moved her signature name from Abba.loo to Mz.Abigail... Dont ask!

I dont know how I got so lucky to have Ashley in my life. We are so close and I talk to her every single day. She thinks its pretty funny because even when she works i still try to call her on my way to work. You never know, maybe she could answer... This week she had a bunch of days off in a row and I have been really busy so last night she came over to take care of me. She brought us homemade muffins and helped me clean our house really good! It helped me out so much and I dont think she realizes how much I love her!

Saturday was my shower and I got some really cute things for little no name baby! It made me so excited. Two of my friends made me a big diaper cake and the diapers are so tiny I cant believe a human would actually fit into them. I got alot of cute outfits and my mom gave us a pack and play/ basinett thing so we have no excuses not to come home! I came right home and put all the cute blankets in her room and hung up all her tiny outfits.

(these pics are from the shower.... )and yes my belly is reallly poking out there now! I feel like i have a giant basketball in my shirt all the time. You know your belly is big when its pretty much resting in my lap when I sit down. I dont know if she is just starting to get lower but i feel like it weighs about 30 lbs itself.

We also had a nice surprise when we got back from the weekend. Nikki (my step sister) had her baby about 10 days early!! Her delivery was quick and easy and her baby, Beckham, is soo cute. I am only hoping my delivery goes half as good as hers went!
